Sunday 27th April - Drive it Day - Track the train

Our Drive It Day on April 27th is shaping up beautifully! We'll be tracking the Bluebell Railway's route by road, starting in Oxted with coffee and pastries, enjoying a light lunch at a vineyard, and visiting the railway itself. We'll finish with tea and cakes at either Sheffield Park with specially reserved parking and a separate area to eat.

The recce

Last month during our route recce, we were driving the decidedly un-classic Audi. Imagine our surprise when, leaving our lunch stop, a passing dog walker asked, "Not in your classic?" We were stunned! How did she know? And then we realised why she looked familiar – it was member Janet! It just goes to show how small the classic car community is!

Taking a shortcut further along, we stumbled upon a beautiful, albeit broken-down, Jaguar. Its owners, patiently awaiting the AA, were having their birthday outing derailed. While unfortunate for them, it led to a pleasant conversation and another surprising classic car sighting.
